IEEE WIE Ottawa News!
According to stats, over 250 million people in the world are visually impaired but apparently, 75 percent of these problems can be treated and even completely cured if they are detected sooner. Thus the development of retinal imaging instruments is a boon for the field of vision care.
IEEE WIE organized an illuminating seminar on “Recent advances in retinal imaging†to provide a gist of the principle of retinal imaging and an overview of the advances in retinal imaging with the opportunities for innovation in ophthalmology and retinal imaging.
Our speaker this time was Dr. Kexing Liu, a senior member of IEEE, who is currently serving as the chair of an IEEE Canada committee responsible for outreach. Dr. Liu is the CEO of OcuXcel Corporation, a technology company based in Kanata, Ontario, dedicated to providing advanced technology solutions and developing new products from a global tech workforce for ophthalmology and vision health.
