Abstract: The Algonquin College Health and Wellness Research Centre officially launched in January 2013 with a focus in the area of Medical Assistive and Analytical Devices. The Centre is supported through a 5 year $2.3M Innovation Enhancement grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). The Centre leverages the College’s vast array of services and capabilities to assist entrepreneurs, Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs), large companies and community partners to develop products, processes and services within the sector. This presentation will provide an overview of the Centre, the process for selecting and funding new projects, examples of various medical devices projects currently underway and also highlight various opportunities for collaboration.
