The Arctic is a vast and challenging environment, of particular interest to people working in the field of radar. Radar systems, developed to operate in a multi-sensor environment for deployment on space, air, ship and ground platforms will provide methods to remotely sense the environment and to monitor human activity. Arctic nations are looking to radar engineers for these solutions. “The Arctic – The New Frontier” theme for RadarCon13 was chosen to foster an environment for both
scientific and operational exchange to enable those solutions. This year’s conference is in the Ottawa Convention Center (OCC) from 29th April-3 May 2013. 29th April and May 3, 2013 will have tutorial sessions. There are 3 sets of 4 parallel sessions on the first two days and 3 sets of 3 parallel sessions on the third day. There is an exhibition and industry session. For the first time in the radar conference, there will be a history component and women in radar session. There are several local and national industries which are going to show case their contributions. There are special sessions for emerging topics and also special session for students. There is also student paper competition and there will be three student winners who will receive cash prize for their papers.

This conference is technically and financially co-sponsored by the Section and AESS Society. The Ottawa AESS chapter is also playing a vital role in the conference. Kindly register and support the conference. The registration site is now open: http://ieeeradarcon13.org/registration/
