The IEEE Ottawa Section celebrated its 68th AGM on October 19, 2012 at the Ottawa Convention Center. It was a well attended function. The first part of the function was the official part where elections for the Executives for 2013 were conducted. The second part of the function was the banquet where awards for the Section groups, individuals and the industries were awarded. The key note speaker was Senator Mac Harb who gave a talk on “Starting Local and Going Global”. The day ended with an entertainment show by the Orbital Talent act, The Gowguys, which were full of surprises. The student volunteers from Carleton University, the University of Ottawa and Algonquin College helped to ensure the success of the AGM under Dr. Rami Abielmona’s, the Section’s AGM Committee Chair, leadership.
