Matthews, Chairman of Wesley Clover, Mitel and March Networks, in Ottawa, and Magician Eric Leclerc of Project 365.

The most profound technologies are those that disappear. They weave themselves into the fabric of everyday life until they are indistinguishable from it.

When France-based Alcatel acquired Newbridge in May 2000, the company employed more than 6,500 employees and recorded FY 1999 revenue of $1.8 billion. In 1972, before launching Newbridge, Terry co-founded Mitel, a world leader in the design and manufacture of enterprise communications solutions. Wesley Clover now has interests in a broad range of next-generation technology companies, real estate, hotels and resorts.

In addition to being the Chairman of Wesley Clover, Terry is also Chairman of a number of private and publicly traded companies, including Mitel, March Networks, Bridgewater Systems, Solace Systems and Counterpath, and sits as a director on the Boards of several others.

Terry holds an honours degree in electronics from the University of Wales and is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical Engineers and of the Royal Academy of Engineering. He has been awarded honorary doctorates by several universities, including the University of Wales and Carleton University in Ottawa. In 1994, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire, and in the 2001 Queen’s Birthday Honours, he was awarded a Knighthood. In 2011, he was appointed Patron of the Cancer Stem Cell Research Institute at Cardiff University.

Eric Leclerc
(Project 365, http://www.youtube.com/user/LeclericShow)

For the past 17 years, author and entertainer Eric Leclerc has become a respected and accomplished performer. His magical illusions have brought him all over the world. Thousands of people have seen him in action from Thailand to the Caribbean.

Eric is in constant demand. His representations are fresh and can be described as interactive amazement for all audiences. Whether he is performing on a cruise ship in the Bahamas, entertaining the Ottawa Senators hockey team, or simply sharing his talents with customers in local hot spots, his trademark magical style has earned him repeat bookings time after time.

It was at the Canadian Association of Magicians competition that Eric achieved the greatest accomplishment of his career. He became the first magician in the association’s history to bring home the gold in both categories. He won first place in Stage magic in 2003, and followed this up by winning the coveted Close-up magic competition in 2007.

At the tender age of 27, it seems like Eric has achieved a lot. If you ask Eric, he will tell you that it’s just the beginning!
