Authors should only submit original work that has neither appeared elsewhere for publication, nor is presently under review for another refereed publication. Extensions of previously published works are welcome as long as the contributions made in the extended version are significant to warrant publication.

Abstract Submission

Please submit a 3-page abstract (maximum) of your proposed book chapter contribution by the specified deadline. The abstract must clearly indicate the problem being addressed, its relevance to defense and security as well as the Computational Intelligence (CI) techniques in the proposed solution. The authors must highlight the scientific contributions in their work.

Non-CI-based solutions are considered to be outside the scope of this volume and will not therefore be accepted.

Submitted abstracts will be independently reviewed by at least three members of the Technical Program Committee (TPC). They will be evaluated according to the novelty, originality and applicability of the proposed solutions. Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to submit their full chapter by the specified deadline, after which another review round will take place. Notice that acceptance of your abstract does not imply the acceptance of your full chapter.

LaTeX is Springer's preferred format (especially for texts containing several formulae), but a Microsoft Word 2007 template is also available.

Abstract Submission Guidelines: LaTeX
  1. Download and install the Springer's llncs2e package for contributed books.
  2. Read the Author Instructions and Reference Guide in the llncs2e package to understand how elements (headings, figures, references) should be formatted using Springer's predefined styles.
  3. Download the customized LaTeX chapter abstract template provided in this link and use it to structure your abstract (instead of the llncs.dem file in the downloaded package).
  4. Do not exceed 3 pages in length, including all figures (if any) and references.
  5. Do not specify author or institution information; submissions are double blinded for peer-review purposes.
  6. Please provide up to five (5) keywords characterizing your abstract submission.
  7. Submit the PDF file with your chapter abstract via EasyChair by the specified deadline.
Abstract Submission Guidelines: Microsoft Word 2007

Springer does not encourage the use of Microsoft Word, particularly as the layout of the pages (position of figures and paragraphs) can change between printouts. However, this option is still available for chapter contributions.
  1. Download and install the Springer's LNPROC Word 2007-2010 package.
  2. Read the Technical Instructions in the splnproc1110.zip package to understand how elements (headings, figures, references) should be formatted using Springer's predefined styles.
  3. Download the customized Microsoft Word 2007 chapter abstract template provided in this link and use it to structure your abstract (instead of the splnproc1110.dotm file in the downloaded package).
