The  Workshop on Adverse Response Monitoring (WARM) 2010 is organized by:

IEEE Ottawa Section, IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society - Ottawa Chapter, Subcommittee on Blood Pressure Measurement of TC25 Medical and Biological Measurements, and IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society - Ottawa Chapter.

This year workshop focus is on

Technologies for Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting of Adverse Response to Medication (SMART ARM).

There will be speakers from Industry, Government, Research Institutions and Academia.

The foremost challenge in health care is to adequately monitor the response to medication. This workshop is set to address this challenge by focusing on the "hard problem" of quantifying the response to treatment, in view of the recent advances in measurement, computation, and communication at the interface between life, health, and medical sciences.

As the topic is of universal interest, the workshop will be a cross-disciplinary, open forum that allows participant with various backgrounds to explore the issues from different perspectives.

The goal is to find ways to unify efforts aimed at meeting the demand for medication safety systems that detect and report adverse events objectively, promptly, and relevantly – case by case, regardless of location.
