This presentation provides an overview of what is patentable, and what is
required to acquire patent protection for intellectual property generated by
engineers, especially for electrical engineers. You will learn about the
latest developments in the rapidly evolving field of patent protection. You
will also learn how you can take advantage of opportunities for protecting
innovations in your area of expertise. New precedents are expanding the
boundaries respecting what is patentable. Knowledge of those new precedents
can assist you in evaluating your opportunities for protecting your
inventions. Practical advice will also be provided to assist you in
determining how to proceed if your invention appears to warrant for patent
protection.
