TOPIC:
Strategic alliances have assumed a central place in
the strategies of high technology companies. The dynamic, fast-paced
environment in which these companies operate has forced executives to
recognize that competitive positions are perishable and that the key to
survival is to be able to adapt and respond to ever changing competitive
circumstances. In this
environment, the 'go it alone' strategy is problematic for even the
best-resourced firms. Partnering competency has become a key factor
differentiating winners and losers.
Presenter:
Micheal J. Kelly is Dean and Professor of Strategic
and International Management of the Faculty of Administration at the
University of Ottawa. Dr. Kelly’s research focuses on strategic
alliances and venture capital financing of high technology companies. He
is the author of several dozen monographs, articles and studies related
to high technology management and strategy issues and is producer of the
video Building Successful Strategic Alliances.
