Aug 8 Reputation Management

Wed August 8 2012 :  “Reputation Management” – Len Fardella of Peter’s New Jobs

or more importantly………

Making Social Media Work for You

So, you made the cut and the company is considering offering you a coveted interview – for a job, contract or even to do business with you. But they’re nervous about making the wrong decision and would like to know more about you.  This is all about how to use that fear to your advantage.

Let’s start with the hard cold numbers. Almost 80% of companies research applicants online and 70% have rejected candidates based on what they found. But there is also an upside. A good online reputation positively influenced 85% of these companies and even better, 50% reported that a great reputation influenced them a lot. You will be checked out. You don’t control that choice. What you can control is what people discovers about you online.

Whether you are seeking a permanent employment role, contract position or advertising yourself as a freelancer or small business, it all comes down to the same decision process. What will they find? Would the results get you an interview? If your answer is anything but a resounding YES then you’re in trouble.

Reputation Management is an interactive information session about creating and managing your online reputation.

Pre-registration required – This is a free session open to all.  This is a joint IEEE Ottawa Section  /IET Ottawa Local Network Event
