2015 IEEE Ottawa Photonics Student Paper Award

The IEEE Ottawa Photonics Chapter, a proud technical sponsor of the 2015 Photonics North conference (Ottawa, June 9 – 11, 2015), is pleased to support the Ottawa region photonics student research programs and the Photonics North Conference by offering its 2015 student paper awards in conjunction with Photonics North 2015.

The IEEE Ottawa Photonics Chapter is pleased to announce the winners of the 2015 Ottawa Photonics Student Paper Award as

 

First Place
Jean-Michele Guay, of University of Ottawa for his paper “Tailoring colors of silver surfaces via nanoparticle formation upon picosecond laser exposure”

 

Second Place
Xiaoyan Ding, of University of Ottawa for her paper “Sequential and concerted breakup of (CO)2”

 

The awards were presented to the winners at the IEEE Ottawa Section AGM on November 6, 2015.

Please join us in congratulating Jean-Michele and Xiaoyan for their excellent research and wish them good luck on their graduate studies.

We also thank all contestants for participating in 2015 Photonics North and in submitting their papers for the competition.

We would like to encourage the student research activities in Photonics and the participation of the 2016 Photonics North Conference in Quebec City (May 24-26, 2016)
